2006 Girls Play in Ohio State Championship Final

Entering a challenging weekend, the 2006 Girls Academia team found themselves playing in the U18 division for the USYF - Ohio State Champions tournament. They started with a solid win over a U18 team with a 7-3 win. However the next match did not go so well and they lost 8-2. That did not slow them down though as they bounced back with a 6-2 win in their third match, which was enough to put them in the final against the defending National Champions. Early on they gave up a couple of easy goals, and they had one apparently legal goal taken away, but they played the rest of the match admirably against a truly strong team. Congratulations to Heart and Sole, and our compliments to the Academia players and coaches for competing to the end.
